Religion

Same Sex attracted people come from every religious and cultural background. How these people are treated is different to each person’s culture or religion. Just because a lot of people from a religion may not be accepting of a person’s sexuality doesn’t mean that everyone will be. There are many religious people and leaders who will be supportive and are progressive in their attitudes.

It may take awhile to find the right contacts but if your faith is important to you there is no reason for you not to practice your spiritual beliefs.

These are just some of the sites that may help in your search. They may not be Australian sites but they may have the information that you require.

Reachout

http://www.reachout.com.au/home.asp

What is Reach Out!?

Reach Out! is a web-based service that inspires young people to help themselves through tough times.

The aim of the service is to improve young people’s mental health and well being by  providing support information and referrals in a format that appeals to young people.

Reach Out! is an initiative of the Inspire Foundation. The mission of the Inspire Foundation is to create opportunities for young people aged 16-25 to change their world. By "their world", we mean whatever is real for them. This could be struggling with depression or suicidal thoughts, wanting to do something for their local community or simply experiencing new ways to learn and grow.

ShopFront Theatre

Shopfront Theatre is a multi-arts centre driven by young people from the local community.  Shopfront has a history of international, national and local partnerships giving us a strong reputation for innovative and high quality work. We specialise in creating original work inspired by the stories, experiences and issues of young people.

Shopfront provides an amazing platform for young people; a cultural network and production co-operative where all young people, regardless of background or ability can express themselves and create exciting work based on their own stories and experiences. We provide an extensive program including workshops, projects, seminars and training in a number of art forms and technical and production ( stage and event management) practice.
