GLYSSN is a project of St George Youth Services. It provides social activities, support, informaiton and referral to gay, lesbian, queer, bisexual, transgender and questioning young people in the south Sydney region. GLYSSN also develops resources and publications, and conducts training for professionals working with young people. Social Meetings » Will be Changing to Wednesday in Miranda, run in conjunction with ShireWide youth services. They are held in the ShireWIde building in Kiora Park, just near the train station. These social groups are called BIPEC. Social meetings are friendly, relaxed and pretty informal. At the meetings we might have a structured activity, or just hang out, eat some food, chat and play a game or watch a movie. Sometimes we'll talk about issues like coming out, relationships or sexual health. These meetings are great to meet other people in similar situations. It is just a great place to just be yourself. If you would like to come along to a social meeting but are a little nervous, the Project Officer is happy to meet with you first to tell you a bit more about it. Meetings run from 4.30-7.00 every second Wednesay. Click the social meeting tab and find out when and where things are happening. GLYSSN is supported by South Eastern Sydney Illawarra Area Health Service.

We have a new social group that is happening in Miranda. Many People tell me that the Shire can be pretty homophobic so now you have a place that you can simply be YOU and meet other people. The group is for all GLBTIQA (that stands for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Queer and Accepting) young people aged 12-25. This groups doesn't exclude people as long as they are understanding of each other's difference. This means you can bring your friends. The group meets Wednesday Fortnightly at ShireWIde Youth services 91a Kiora Road. Any other questions my contact detials are below. Contact Evan on 02 9570 6743 / 0410 452 323 |
